Our Programs

B’yachad/Togetherness program

This program is offered to our preschoolers, as a parent and me class. These classes will be full of singing, art and laughter, as we introduce Judaism to our littlest learners. Mrs. Gail and Miss Sarah will be offering this class on the first Sunday of each month.

Bonim- Builders

Kinderdergarten and first grade

The coming year will be filled with new learning opportunities, J-STEAM activities, and community building projects.  Students will continue to build their connection to Judaism, begin to explore Hebrew, Jewish holidays, Torah and values. In addition to our more formal classes we will also be offering family fun days and large group activities.

CHoquerim- Explorers

Grades 2-4

Our grade 2-4 students will continue to engage in Jewish culture, tradition, and holidays as well as Hebrew Language.  We will also be introducing Tefilah/Prayer to this age group to help our students to become more familiar with the structure of Services. In addition to formal classes we will also be offering family fun days and large group activities. Fourth graders will also attend a Wednesday evening class as they begin to work toward B'nai Mitvah.

Yotzerim- Creators

Fifth and Sixth Grade

In addition to working with our younger students on Sunday, this age group will have the opportunity to dig deeper into their studies on Wednesday afternoons. Focus for this age group will be on building Hebrew proficiency and a more in depth look into the customs of Judaism with the ultimate goal of forging lifelong connects to Judaism.  This year we will be exploring Jewish Celebrations around the world.

Bar and Bat Mitzvah

Students who meet eligibility requirements, prepare to become Bar or Bat Mitzvah at age 13 or older. During this year of study they deepen their personal connection to Judaism and study Hebrew blessings and prayers in Chavruta (small groups).  These students dive deep into modern Jewish history including Holocaust studies.  Students age 12 and up have the opportunity to become Madrechim in our younger programs. Additionally these students are tutored one on one by the rabbi and other congregants for the year prior to this life cycle event.

Supper Club  - Seventh - Twelfth Grades

Teens socialize over dinner and then attend classes to explore topics in modular based classes.  Topics include:  Gender studies, food choices, body art, the Holocaust, Jewish law, Jewish life cycle and experiences with anti-Semitism.  Students have the opportunity to ask deep meaningful questions in a discussion based forum.

Dessert Club  - College and Beyond

This program is designed to engage young adults in connecting with Judaism.  We will explore current events with a Jewish twist, and revisit old favorites to find out what they didn't teach us in Hebrew School.  This program is a great way to keep our students connected as they go away to college, or as they join us for the first time coming to our local universities.
